Girlfriend

I began writing a girl over a year ago that I seen on Zoosk. She's around my age, likes fishing, animals, traveling I think, amongst other things. We went out over a month ago and things seem to be going well. I have a date with her at her house just to hang out and watch TV which I have to leave for in about 10 minutes. Secretly I'm on a mission as I'm gonna ask her daughter to help me send her flowers for Administrative Assistant's day tomorrow.

We went fishing last week at Lake Greenlee in Brinkley where I met her mother the first time and her daughter's fiance. It was a pleasant day and I caught the most fish so I can't help but brag.

Gardening Time

It's time to get gardening! I bought some strawberries last month and set them out but I think the poison the lawn workers put on the yard stunted their growth. I've gotten a couple of small berries off of a couple of plants.


I built my square foot garden box today. I'm gonna try to maximize my time and effort into two 4 foot x 8 foot boxes and see how it goes. I got one of the boxs built and now I need to get the soil and seeds/plants to stuff in it.

Spring Is Here

I love spring. I have a large bunch of honeysuckle vines right at the edge of my driveway and when they are in bloom the heavy sweet scent can take my breath away. I love honeysuckle. When I was a kid me and my friend would go gather honeysuckle juice so that his mom could make honeysuckle tea. It took forever it seemed to get a teaspoon full of juice as each flower only had a drop or if we were lucky two drops.

My Neighbors Flowers

I was playing with the camera on my iPad seeing what quality the photos would come out as. I wasn't impressed. The wind was blowing the the camera is so over sensitive it made the light bouncing off the flowers blur a lot.

AvG, Ad-Aware, Spybot Search & Destroy

I recently installed an old harddrive as a slave on my home computer and unfortunately it had viruses, malware, spyware, browser hijackers, and rootkits on it.

I haven't been using a virus program so when I began having problems and couldn't get any of the malware programs to work I downloaded AVG and began looking for viruses.

Unfortunately it was too late. I had a particularly nasty rootkit and browser hijackers that prevented me from updating Ad-Aware, Spybot S & D, and AvG. I was able to manually download updates but after running several 3-4-5 hour scans with each one removing a virus here, a malware there, a bho here it never got to the root of the problem.

I would try to look on the web for a solution but if it was a link from Google or Yahoo 90% of the time I would be redirected. It was very frustrating. The only successful links I could manage were at www.metacrawler.com which I think was because the links opened in a new window.

I neglected to mention that last week I had been looking for a program to send out bulk emails for my business but was also looking for keygens to unlock the full potential of those programs. I remember a couple of times when I was browser jacked and install screens popped up. I suppose this added a few worms and trojans to my list.

Anyway after a bunch of scans and an aborted attempt at Panda Security I went back to metacrawler and found a forum that gave me some good information. There was a link to Bleeping Computer with a download for a program called ComboFix. I read the information and honestly it only vaguely suggested that it might help my ailing computer. Also I'm very skeptical about downloading stuff just because a web page says it will help. But I had a virus program and 3 malware programs doing active duty to detect anything malicious that comes through my cable modem.

I downloaded the program and then reread the instructions and became even more suspicious because it was telling me to close all of my active virus and malware detection programs. In consternation I did so and prayed excessively that when I clicked on the program it wouldnt be the end of my hard drive.

I testify that this program is in no way malicious and that after going thru the hoops like it directed me it removed 2 rootkits of virus/malware/bho/worms. After it deleted the things it thought were malicious I was immediately able to update AVG, Ad-Aware, and Spybot S & D.

I still have a couple of more scans that I have to run with the updated virus and malware programs but as yet I have had no browser hijacks/redirects and as I said I was able to download updates to virus/malware programs that I couldn't do before.

I hope this bit of information is a help to some of you in the computering world.

Update

I was in a grumpy mood all day yesterday. I kept picking at mom and we argued over nothing most of the day. It wasnt altogether my fault. She called me and woke me up and I guess I got up on the wrong side of the bed.

It rained all day and when I came home I was so surprised to see ice everywhere. Every limb, every power line, every roof had ice hanging off of it. I took this at my house:

It's the next day obviously and being Tuesday my favorite game is down for maintenance. I had told mom I'd be in late for work today. Normally I like listening to rain on the porch of my tin roof but today it's annoying. Probably because I'm bored.

Guess I'll clean my house some.

Christmas Tree

I put up the Christmas tree today.

I spent some time talking with mom. I asked her if she would move with me if I happened to find a girl and needed to move so that the girl wouldnt have to give up her job. I should have known it was just a can of worms.

Her basic response was this is my home and I dont want to move. This is your job and you dont need to move. The world revolves around me so tough titty and deal with it. If you get a girl make her quit and move here to where we are.
